While it has been a while since we played them, we thought that we had to give the new Cobra S2 drivers a try. The Cobra S2 driver is one of two new golf drivers that Cobra put out for 2010. Both of them have been listed by Golf Digest on their "gold" hotlist. In this Cobra S2 review, we are going discuss the features of the Cobra S2, the price of the Cobra S2, and provide you with some of our feelings on the Cobra S2.

To begin with, there are two types of the Cobra S2 drivers, a standard version and an offset version. Both models are also available in men’s and women’s. No matter which Cobra S2 driver you choose, they all feature the same core technology. That technology includes the 9 point face technology. The 9 point face technology consists of a thin milled face insert that has a titanium perimeter. There are nine key points on the face of the golf club which are strategically placed to increase the ball speed.

On the standard Cobra S2 driver there is also a newly designed engineered structured head and an adjustable flight control system. The engineered structured head is for looks and balance. While the new flight control technology allows the golfers to adjust the face angle. You can set the face angle to be standard, 1.5 degrees closed, and 1.5 degrees open. This allows you to set the flight angle that you desire. The standard Cobra S2 driver comes in the following lofts: 8.5. 9.5, 10.5, 11.5, and for women in 13.0. In the Cobra S2 offset driver, it also has the 9 point face technology. However the key component of this golf driver is the offset face. The offset face allows a golfers hands to get in front of the ball which reduces the amount of slice. The Cobra S2 offset driver is a whopping 460cc! This Cobra S2 driver is designed for medium to high handicap golfers. It is available in the following lofts: 9.5, 10.5, 11.5, and for women in 15.0. The price of the Cobra S2 offset driver is $250.00.

Best Golf Equipment Reviews hit both models of the Cobra S2 driver. Since we are a lower handicap player, we liked the standard version better. The standard version has a clean look to it and a good feel to it. While we don’t necessary like the look of offset clubs, we could see the potential benefit for the higher handicap players. About the only thing that we would change if we got the Cobra S2 driver is put a lighter shaft in it. For an average golfer you won’t notice the difference but for the advance players, the stock shaft is a tad on the heavy side.
